In high-pressure environments like healthcare, even the most capable leaders can find themselves overwhelmed by long hours, constant demands, and the pressure to perform without pause. Over time, this leads to more than exhaustion and it erodes your ability to lead effectively and live fully.

The struggle to balance a demanding career with personal life, family responsibilities, and self-care can often feel overwhelming. My approach is rooted in real-world experiences, both my own and the leaders I’ve coached, guiding you through these challenges towards a path of sustainable wellness and leadership efficacy.

As your Executive Resilience and HeartBreath™ Coach, I’m here to walk alongside you—not just to help you manage stress, but to transform how you lead and live. With a background in healthcare, executive leadership, and trauma-informed somatic practices, I support high-achieving leaders in rebuilding their internal systems so they can thrive—without sacrificing themselves in the process.

My Journey…

In 2016, I stepped into a senior leadership role with the Government of Canada and hit my first real burnout. I felt the stress before walking into the office every morning. I blamed the system and the workload, but the truth is that even though I came from the health sector, I did not have the tools, the boundaries, or the capacity to support myself while leading others. I felt alone and ashamed, and I kept pushing because that is what strong people do, right?

Then the pandemic came. I had assumed an executive role in public health, working sixteen to eighteen hour days for weeks at a time. I was running on adrenaline and survival. My body finally tapped out. I remember thinking, “If I keep going like this, my first heart attack is coming.”

Time off helped me rest, but nothing changed inside me. The anxiety, the pressure, the reactivity, the numbness were all still present and that terrified me because I knew I couldn’t keep going this way.

During my recovery, I was introduced to breathwork, somatics, and nervous system regulation methods. This became a turning point for me because I learned how to work with my nervous system (and rewire its responsiveness) rather than being a ‘victim’ of it. Slowly my body came out of survival mode. I began to find sleep again and I started to think more clearly. I also reconnected with joy and feeling truly rested. Ultimately, the clarity I gained helped me make decisions that aligned more with who I was and what I truly wanted. 

The Exhale Method grew from that healing journey. It is everything I wish someone had handed me  during these times. Today I help leaders reclaim their energy, calm their nervous system, and lead in a way that feels human again. You can be strong without being burned out. You can care deeply without losing yourself. You can lead and still have a life that belongs to you.

This is the work that brought me back to myself, and it is the work I now share with others.

I started to see the links between my own trauma story and the challenges I had as a leader over the decades of my career.

With that, I decided to embark on a healing journey so that I could re-establish some form of balance in my life, reconnect with my inner drive and start to feel whole – in ways I may never have felt previously.

After significant trips to the therapist after my first burnout, I found that I hit a ceiling to my healing and started to look for other methods of growth and support in my second burnout experience to help me continue to make the shifts I needed.

That is when I found coaching, which helped me plan my exit strategy and find alignment in what I truly wanted in my life and that’s when I also found HeartBreath™.

HeartBreathTM was a game-changer for me.

Reconnecting to my mind and body through breath helped me to go deep fast and provided me with a path to profound healing. This got me out of my head and into my body in a way where I finally began to feel the release of my imposter, my inner critics, and the stress that I held in my body for literally decades.

I knew at that moment that I HAD to share this with other leaders to help them feel relief from the years of stress they had experienced so that they could feel the relief that I was feeling!

Leveraging my extensive background in nursing, public health, and emergency management, I offer a holistic approach that integrates somatic practices and executive coaching to empower leaders towards sustainable resilience.

This allows me to offer unique, effective solutions that support not only the physical well-being of leaders but also foster emotional resilience and sustained personal growth and expansion.

By combining health dimensions with executive coaching techniques I’ve mastered through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) training, I help leaders turn their challenges into powerful sources of strength. My strategies are customized to meet the unique needs of each individual or organization, ensuring a deeply personal and transformative journey to wellness.

In our coaching sessions, you’ll experience a range of methods, including ICF-approved techniques, mindfulness practices, HeartBreath™ sessions, and personalized stress management strategies.

My goal is to empower leaders like you to achieve a harmonious balance, allowing you to lead with compassion, clarity, and renewed energy.

A Closer Look At My Life

When I’m not helping leaders thrive in their personal lives, here’s what I’m usually busy with…

  • I love to travel with my hubby of over 20+ years and my 3 kids – one of our favorite trips was a trip to California and Disneyland in the summer of 2022 where I celebrated my 50th birthday!
  • As a proud D23 member, I’m part of a community where Disney fans gather to celebrate the magic! Being a Disney fan for several decades, I’ve had the joy of visiting the parks on multiple occasions, each time feeling that same spark of wonder and excitement.
  • Being an extrovert means there’s nothing more energizing than connecting with new people! One of the most rewarding parts of being a coach has been watching my network and community of colleagues, clients, and friends grow along the way.
  • One of my side hobbies is travel vlogging, and my favorite resort so far, that I have traveled to is the Black Rock Resort in Ucluelet, BC, where the rooms overlook the ocean, and the views are breathtaking!
